Once upon a time, There was a very sad grey wolf whose muzzle had turned silver. His ears were a little ragged and his tail had developed a definite droop. He had no place nice to go, just a hollow under the pine branches... He felt very sad. 1 |

Mr. and Mrs. Wolf laid soft bracken in their den, and drank sweet water from the stream down below. Now there were two Wolfies in the den. The warm autumn sun shone on their little faces in the afternoons as they lay resting, and they kept each other warm every night. In the mornings they woke to find the autumn leaves falling down, down, down. They were red, yellow and brown. 7 |
