Blind Side 2010 PG-128m- Dir by John Lee
Hancock. Stars Sandra Bullock is Leigh Anne Touhy
in this amazing true story about Michael Oher
(Quinton Aaron). Big Mike was accepted into Wingate
Christian school because of his stature but really
blossomed when SJ befriended him. One cold night
they took this desperate black kid, (with a
protective streak) home with them. With Miss Sue
(Kathy Bates) as his tutor and caring teachers
& Mrs Touhy's unique instructive methods he
becomes one of the best offensive tackles in
Memphis. If you are an NFL fan this is a MustC Film
(watch the credits to see real pix)

How to Train your DRAGON 3D ***
How
to Train your DRAGON 3D 2010 PG-98m- Is an
entertaining childrens film, which can be enjoyed
on deeper levels by adults. This adds up to a
wonderful family film. These great 3D special
effects were spectular but the cost of $16.50
seemed exorbitant to me. The story is about a
Viking village that is constantly being attacked by
dragons. The teenage hero, Hiccup is the gangly son
of the Chief who is a dissapointment to his father.
Dad is determined to turn his son into a
dragonslayer like all the other villagers. Hiccup
discovers that the dragons are being dominated by a
massive dragon and the vikings set out to destroy
the menace and set the whole community free.

Dir by Chris Columbus (Harry Potter). Stars
Logan Lerman (Patriot) son of Poseidon
(Grays Anatomy) in the title role, Alexandra
Daddario (White Collar) as Annabeth daughter
of Athena (CSI.NY)- Grover his protector
& Pirece Brosnan his teacher. This is a huge
big budget film that pulls out all the stops to
portray the gods of Olympus in all their glory.
Sean Bean is Zeus, Steve Coogan is Hades and Uma
Thurman is hideous as Medusa. This was great to see
on the BIG Screen 7/10- I will borrow JO's copy
when ever I want to see this film again :)

Jackson is having a bad day... Zeus' lightning bolt
is missing and he thinks Percy, son of Poseidon,
has it. As if that isn't bad enough, Percy's mother
has been kidnapped by a minotaur and is being held
hostage by Hades in exchange for giving him the
bolt instead. Things heat up as Zeus declares war
amongst the gods if the bolt is not returned by
midnight on the summer solstice. Percy has to
battle a furie, the hydra, Medusa and even Hades
himself to complete the quest for the lightning
bolt and to save his mother. Directed by Chris
Columbus, (Harry Potter & The Philosopher's
Stone), this movie has some amazing acting and
dazzling digital effects. I loved it so much I will
definately go out and buy my own copy. I have to
say this movie scores a definite 10 out of 10."

INVICTUS
2009 PG (brief Violence)-133m. A Brilliant True
Story about how Nelson Mandella (Morgan Freeman)
united a nation, after 28 years as a political
prisoner on Robin Island. He was elected President
of the republic of South Africa to the disgust of
the previous ruling white minority. Francois
Pienaar (Matt Damon) was Captain of the adored
mightily Springboks, whom the black africans
dispised. President Mandella realized that by using
the upcoming '95 World Rugby Cup and by inspiring
the Team Leader to catch sight of his dream they
could harnas national pride with a victory.

Elizando (Necessary Roughness) & Jessica Beil
(7th Heaven) - Intitally I thought this movie would
be like the U.K. made Love Actually but was
pleasently surprised by the complate lack of
profanity, sex and or nudity. So enjoy this
American offering over its English counterpart. In
the end all the stories came together beautifuly
and even the unhealthy relationship was handled
discretely. LM & GB

Bran Nue Dae. ***
Bran
Nue Dae 2010 PG -88m. Surprisingly Quirky but
Fun little film set in Broome WA in 1969- Tells the
story about Willie and Rosie's unrequited romance.
Sent away to boarding school in Perth the
dominating Father Benidicitus (Geoffery Rush)
attempts to control his aborigional students who
unexpectadly break out into song. He runs away and
adventure really begins when Willie meets Tadpole
(Ernie Dingo) and they endevour to return home with
hippies Tommy & Annie (Missy Higgins). In the
mean time Rosie is singing in the local pub with a
band and the priest is in hot pursuit to catch
them. GB & AN ***

is quirkey as Sherlock Holmes in this 2009 [M] V-128m- new DVD
directed by Guy Ritchie. This fascinating remake
beautifully recreates 1890's London. McAdam is
courious as Irene Adler & Law is not
awful as Watson. You will need sub titles to catch
all of the intricate diologue and thankfully no
profanity. Mark Strong is Evil as Lord
Blackwood and some occult abounds in this saga,
as does sudden outbreaks of fisty cuffs. There is
good use of slow motion to help us gather in
Sherlock's brilliant deductions & precise
language. Jude and Robert banter like clever
school boys which is the point of this yarn,
leading to a riveting finaly set on top of Tower
Bridge.7/10- Violence makes this not qiute a
keeper! Laws best film.

Bana as Time traveler, Henry (Hector of Troy &

This is a fascinating film that is beautifully shot
amazingly cut and wonderfully put together.
Definately a Keeper 9/10 Hachi has Richard Gere finding a
playful puppy at the railway and the bond that
lasts long after his master dies. 5/10 2012-M- Far fetched and over the top &
way too much CGI. 3/10

made this rediculious movie (Never Again)! Has
Brad Pitt as Nazi hunter Lt. Aldo Raine. FAME- PG.[SxP]-107m. Four more years
in NYs School of the preforming Arts. Lots of
dance, music & drama! stars Debbie Allen,
Charles Dutton & Frazier. Charlie & Boots- M.[]-101m. When
his mother dies, Son takes his dad on a long over
due fishing trip to Cape York. This is a
meaningful but light hearted "Road Movie" with two
men reconnecting. Stars Paul Hogan (Croc
Dundee) & Shane (Kenny) Jacobson. G-Force- PG.[] 88m. Fancy Gadgets
& Guinea Pigs! Would be scientiest tries to
catch the bads guys using trained critters that
talk! With Zack Galifianakis (Tru

saw this month.
Give Chess Records a spin! Fame was
worth a look! Talking Animals does not a movie
make! Don't bother with the rest. Fake Action
(CGI) Violence, Profanity and Death! Are really not

Dates..2004.PG[50]W-99m. Stars Adam
Sandler as Henry Roth who falls for the
Beautiful Lucy Whitmore (Drew Barrymore).
Just one problem- she doesn't remember who him the
very next day. This is Sandlers best film. He has
to win the love of Forgetful Lucy every day,
because of a head injury can't remember who he is.
He tricks her into pulling her car over so they can
chat and one day she beat the sh*t out of Ula with
a bat. Wonderful Story Great music it's a Keeper.

Fav) stars Elizabeth Shue as reluctant babysitter
Chris Parker who must travel downtown into the City
of Chicago to rescue her friend Brenda who's run
away from home. Brad, Sarah & Darrell come
along for the ride. Their car has a blow out and
gets towed by a one armed man who nearly destroys
it. They're captured by car thieves and escape by
train to end up in the middle of a gang fight.
While escaping enter a Club where "NoBody Leaves
this Place without Singin' the Blues!" This is a
Great -Night on The Town- GB :)

Ugly- M[10]W-100m- Dir. David McNally-
Stars Piper Perabo (Cheaper by Dozen) as Violet
Sanford, a struggling Song writer who leaves her
Dad, John Goodman (King Ralph) and travels from NJ
to NY City, where she mets Kevin -Adam Garcia
(Bootmen). Works for LIL- Maria Bello (Payback) her
Boss & Cammie, Zoe and Rachel the other Bar
girls. Her best friend is Gloria- Melanie Lynskey
(Sweet Home Alabama) - Great music makes this film
fun to watch and Leanne Rimes makes a guest
appearence at the end.

Stars Will Smith as Alex Hitchens, the Date Doctor.
He helps guys to under stand how women think. He
basically sets up situations so the girl will get
out of her own way long enough to notice a good
bloke. Eva Mendes is Sara the gossip colomnist who
is skeptical about love and Casey is her best
friend. Kevin James is Albert in love with the
unatainable Allegra Cole the heiress. This movie
has great music and a good rythm and a fun film
watch. GB

Nicolas Cage (sequel- Book of Secrets 08) as
Benjamin Franklin Gates. Chasing down Clues
all over the world with Riley Poole (Justin
Bartha), fending off bad guys like Sean Bean
(Patriot Games) and protecting priceless documents
with the help of Dad (John Voight) and rescuing a
beautiful damsel Abigail Chase (Diane
Kruger). Pursued by Harvey Keitel (January Man) He
was made a Knight by his Grandpa, Christoper
Plumber (Sound Music). A DVD you can watch often.
The
Legend of Bagger Vance.
2000.PG.[62]W-126m. Dir by Robert Redford.
Stars Matt Damon as golfer Junah & Will Smith
his magical caddy. Older Hardy Grieves (Jack Lemon)
tells the story of his youth and the amazing golf
match between Walter Hagan, Bobby Jones and
Savanahs own WW1 hero Randolph Junah. Having
created the premier golf course in the south the
great depression destroys all hope But Adele the
daughter convinces Jones and Hagan to play an
exibition match. He is pressed into playing again,
with the help of Bagger and young Hardy
J.Michael Moncrief together they "Find the
Field." Take this film out for a spin it is
beautifully shot & wonderfully
written.
A Night
at the Museum.2006.PG.[xx]W-102m. has
Ben Stiller, in this interesting film about Larry
the looser, who takes a job as the night guard in a
New York Museum, (Where History comes Alive) the
old guards Dick Van Dike and Mickey Rooney are
retiring and leave the unsuspecting new guy in
charge of the whole place with a long list if
bizzare instructions. Buckle down and get ready for
an amazing adventure. GB

story of William Thatcher (Heath Ledger)
who's master dies and the squire rides in his
place. This great action movie has the best
jousting sequences ever put on film. A sweet love
story and soundtrack by Queen & BTO that's
Loved by many and hated by some.
Robin
Hood Prince of Thieves...M[41]L-149m.
Stars Kevin Costner as Loxley & Morgan Freeman
Aziem. This is my favourite remake of this
legendary Tale. It meet the standards of an
excellent film. Maid Marion is well portrayed by
Mary Elizabeth Masterantonio & Christian Stater
is Will Scarlet.
The Mask
of Zorro...M[70]L-101m. Starring
Antonio Banderas & Anthony Hophins this swash
buckling blockbuster continues on the amazing
legend of the masked hero of mexico. With the
beautiful Catherine Zita Jones as his love interest
this is a great film to enjoy anytime.
The
Patriot..MA[]L-165m. stars Mel
Gibson as Benjamin Martin & Heath
Ledger is excellent as his son Gabriel set
during the war of independence. Although this film
is very violent there is no language. (it even made
the Preachers Cut;)

the first Indiana JONES in the Series of great
Adventure flims with Harrison FORD in the Title
Role and a wonderful cast of supporting Actors

Holt is the Chief of the Albany Fire Dept. His
relationship with Catherine is strained and so the
rest of his life is in a downward spiral. His
father challenges him to take the "Love Dare"
before seperating from his wife. This is another
great movie by the good folks at Sherwood Baptist

directed by & stars Alex Kendrick as Grant
Taylor the struggling coach of the Shilo
Christian School Gridiron Eagles. Faced with
imminent dismissal the struggling leader realises
he must understand what the true purpose is for why
they play the game. His car is junk, his wife is
not conceiving, his house smells awful and on top
of that his team can't win games. He had Nowhere
else to turn but to the LORD. With his new team
philosophy, revival comes. In a twist of fate, they
Face the toughest team in Georgia. Three times
their size the GIANTs dwarf the boys from Shilo.
They needed a miracle. GB

Robert Zemeckis. Stars Michael J.FOX as the time
travelling, Marty McFly who helping Doc.
Emmit Brown (Christopher Lloyd) winds up in
1955 and jepodises his parents first meeting.
Lightening can propel him back to his time but he
must first get George to meet Loraine at the
enchantmet under the sea dance. Marty plays guitar
and barely leaves enough time to ride the
lightening at the clock tower.
Field
of Dreams. PG.[16]W-100m. Directed by
Phil Alden Robinson. Stars Kevin Costner is Ray
Kinsella who hears the Voice "If You Build it He
will Come" and is compelled to create a baseball
diamond in the middle of his corn field. Amy
Madigan is wonderful as his wife & James Earl
Jones portrays Terrance Mann the writer. Legendry
players come back to play baseball again
fascinating faith and tangable truths are taught to
us in Iowa.

Off.1986.PG.[xx]W-103m.dir.John Hughs
-stars Matthew Broderick in the title role. With
Cameron & Sloane they borrow a red ferrari
& go down town Chicago to for a Day Off "the
question is what aren't we going to do!" They see
priceless works of art eat in a fancy place and
catch a fly ball at a Cubs game. See him sing Twist
and Shout on the float in the German Day
parade.

to The Future 2&3.(89-90)-
PG.[81]W-103m. In the sequel again, Michael
J.FOX is Marty McFly who has Doc. Emmit
Brown taking them to 2015 because "Something
must be done about children!" Fate has twisted and
when they return bad guy Biff is in control of the
present. The solution lies in the past but while
setting everything right the Doc gets blasted back
to 1885. The Old West is the setting for the final
saga as they try to get the Delorian without fuel
up to 88mph & get Back to the
Future.
Raiders
of the Lost ARK.1981-PG.[81]W-115m.
Directed by Stephen Speilberg. Stars Harrison Ford
as the swash buckelling, whip cracking, fedora
wearing, Archeologist, Indiana Jones. Trying to
track down priceless artifacts all over the globe.
Set in 1936 Indy is hired to find the Ark of the
Covenant and defeat the Nazis. With sequels like
Temple of Doom, His Last Crusade and Kingdom of the
Crystal Skull. They are great fun to watch and the
action sequences are still some of the best put on
film.
